Trouble with nashbar front rack on LHT

I've owned this nashbar front rack for some time:

https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product..._200280_200411

it was mounted to a mountain bike's rigid fork and as such used the clamp hardware since the fork didn't have brazeons. Today I removed the rack and tried attaching it to my LHT but no matter how I flip it, the lower mount seems to hit the quick release. The only way I can see it working is with like a 1" spacer and some really long bolts.

Hellllllp!

I don't have this rack but had issues with my Axiom Lowrider rack. This is what I ended up doing, the QL is still a pain to use but it works, I may change the rack this year.

Boy I was really hoping that I could use the forward braze on.

Try a non-QR skewer. I've got the same LHT and Nashbar rack setup and use an anti-theft skewer that requires an allen wrench. Works ok.

Bikes: Surly LHT

Mr. Jim
I have LHT and the exact front rack. I was almost losing my mind trying to figure something out when i came across this thread. How did you manage to put that much distance between the lower eyelet and the rack?
I assume there are some spacers but can you explain me what you did in detail. i cant make it out clearly in the picture

Thanks
