New fork for old Univega frame
Hi all,
I need to get a new fork for my new touring/utility bike build. It's an old Univega Nuovo Sport, which came with 27" wheels and it has a 1" headtube. The fork had an axle-to-crown distance of around 390mm I am guessing. I want to run 700c wheels on it.
I'm looking at the Surly 1" threadless Crosscheck fork, and the only issue with it is that it has an axle-to-crown distance of 400mm. Do you think this would be ok? I like that it has canti studs on it, as I definitely want to be able to stop, and I'd be using an Avid Single-Digit 7 on the front with that setup.
Is there anything else you'd recommend?
Thanks!
