XT Shadow derailleur with Dura Ace shifters

Hi everybody
I have a very simple question: will a XT Shadow rear derailleur work with Dura Ace bar end shifters?
I'm Asking because this derailleur lacks the adjusting barrel of the cable.
Thanks in advance

Anything can be made to work by a good mechanic. You can use a Jagwire inline barrel adjuster.

I use an XT Shadow rear derailleur with Chorus 10-speed brifters, a 9 speed Shimano cassette and a Jtek Shiftmate.

Most bikes use barrell adjusters on the down tubes mounted with the cable stop. Is your bike missing them?

You know the XT model? Most of the XT's I know have the adjuster barrel buried under the accordion boot on the back of the derailer similar to XTR.

the new xt rear derailers reportedly have no adjusters. Depending on your frame, you'll have an opportunity to mount some barrels to the downtube; the dura-ace shifters will come with a pair of adjusters that bolt to the downtube. the derailer will work with the shifters; just make sure you get the 9speed shifters if you're using a 9speed cassette.
