Bianchi C2C Via Nirone 7

Thinking about a Portland to San Francisco ride next summer.

But going to pick up a touring bike very soon to train with.

Really liking the Via Nirone 7 Carbon Veloce mix OR the Ultrega 105 mix.

Opinions about either of these bikes for touring?

Other bikes I have been looking at are the 520, LHT, Jamis.

wow i wish i had gotten that bike. the alu-carbon one is probably very comfortable. As long as you arn't carrying much of anything, the nirone should be OK, but it has no braze ons. I believe that the trek 520 is very overpriced and the LHT may be too heavy duty if you are also looking at the via nirone. The jamis aurora is a good tourer on the buck, and I have a jamis satellite or quest which is a good sports tourer/audax bike. You should also check out the cannondale synapse aluminum, its comfortable, light, affordable and made in USA Now that I am considering racing for my university, I wish I had a cannondale synapse instead as an all-rounder. I would guess my next bike will be a CAAD9
