iPhone app for Warmshowers.org
I recently completed work on an iPhone app for warmshowers.org. If you're unfamiliar with warmshowers, then visit warmshowers.org to learn what it's about.
The app lets you visualize on a map the location of "available" hosts in your vicinity, mark them as favourites (for easy retrieval later), and get in contact with them. You must have an account on warmshowers.org to use this app.
You can download and try the app by visiting the App Store and searching for "warmshowers", or by clicking this link:
The app is 100% free. Enjoy!

Will the app work on my Ipod Touch? The Touch does have the ability to locate itself via network, but if the app allowed me to enter my current location via GPS coordinates from Google maps or my zip code, then when I had a WiFi connection I'd be able to use it.

I don't have an iPod Touch to test with, but I see no reason it wouldn't work. If for any reason the unit can't find your location, you can still manually zoom to your location to see the hosts in that area. Let me know how it goes.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

I just tried to download the app but not compatable, needs Iphone 3.1.3 version software. To bad since this looks like a great idea. I'll just have to logon to warmshowers website from my Touch.

Either way and if possible, I will make efforts to have iPod Touch support in v1.1.

ver. 3.1.3 is brand new (early feb) so if you hven't updated in sometime, you won't have it. i've read that it's not a major update and i know for a fact if you have a jailbroken/unlocked phone, don't update it to 3.1.3.

You can jailbreak 3.1.3 depending on your device. Check the dev-team blog to download the appropriate program to be able to make a custom ipsw to update.
