Pets on a Tour?
Does anyone bring their pets along on tours? I just ordered a dog trailer https://www.wicycle.com/bsd.htm and a dog tent https://shop.store.yahoo.com/pvepets/camping.html. He is a min-pin, so it's not a lot more weight.

I would spend a lot of time acclimating the dog to the trailer. My girlfriend used to take her pug to work in a burley; which he didn't care for at all. Most memorable ride: being stopped at a road crossing, another biker said to her: "Lady, thats the ugliest kid I've ever seen!"
Same goes for camping. Is the dog kennel trained? If so, having his own tent may work well. If he's more people focused or has abandonment issues, he might be better off in your tent.

He was born June 4th, so he is in the prime time of his life to be trained and yes, as soon as I get the two items, I will be working on training him to ride in the trailer and sleep in his own tent.

I met a couple at a tourist park (read city campground) in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan who were travelling with a dog. They pulled the dog in a Burley trailer. I think they just let it sleep out under the stars. I'm not sure what they did if it rained. They stopped frequently to let the dog run and do what nature demanded. The dog seemed happy enough with the arrangement.
By the way, this was a larger dog. Not a Great Dane or St. Bernard, but about a 60 pounder, I'd guess.

You might want to take a look at Scott and Jodi Wayland's journal about their recent tour with their dog Django. It's at https://nodoggieleftbehind2004.crazyguyonabike.com.
