panniers. the seat is what made me right click and put it on my background. you were running full panniers from arkel in that pic (all red). love the stem too.

i started out as an ultralight backpacker before i got into bike touring so here is my rig fully loaded for a 120 mile trip
actually i do wear a small backpack with a tent and small sleeping bag and food in it

Here is my Trek 520 in southeastern Ohio. I live north of Dayton and was on my way to visit my son in Athens (Ohio University). I camped near Deer Creek state park on Friday (the state park was full). The pic was taken on Saturday 10/21/06 This area is really beautiful and has some outrageous hills.

heres a pic of my rig, its a GIANT Great Journey II i bought this bike in japan. the panniers that came with the bike are great, once i seam sealed a few places they are virtually waterproof. my first trip with the bike was only 7 days but it rained for 6 of them and my stuff stayed nice and dry. this is my first "real bike" and im really happy with it. payed a little over a grand for it but what a deal 2 sets of panniers, front/back rack included.....was a little apprehensive cause the price was so low but i guess since the racks/panniers are GIANT brand as well they can include with the bike. i will have to say ive had pretty constant probs with the gears not shifting quite right.....maybe its the cables still stretching....how many miles/kil does it usually take for break in? i also tilted the bars up.....my fat stomach made it uncomfy for me to band over that far....dont laugh im working on that, anyway let me know what ya think.

Thanks, the bike is custom, I made it! The funny part is most of the time people ask "did you make the fenders?", when I say no, but I made the bike, they just give a disppioned "oh". I wanted to start lying!
The fenders are made by a guy named Cody in Bend, Or. He sells them on eBay, just look up wood or wooden fenders. They are light, rigid, and not plastic.
