Bike looks great and the Avid brakes are the best choice for a racebar, but your forks look a little week for a discbrake. Does it work ok without bending too much?

I haven't noticed excessive flex yet. The bike was made by a local builder, so if I notice anything I'm sure he'll take care of it.

Not quite loaded yet, but I thought some people might be interested in my barbag set up.

Put Nokon high performance gear cable on front so I could get the cables out of the way and make room for the bag.

It's an old Coventry Eagle 531 frame from 60s, reprayed and built up for touring. I've had (and still have) a lot of bikes, but I have to say, it's the best I've ever had. The ride i just...sublime.

Im new to all this, so what can i say.. she is a beauty ?? Ive never had a bike like this, always mountain bikes... what an experience it is on one of them...

Few tinkering problems as she is new, i clocked up only 50k on her in a few days, getting used to her. After some advice, ive since adjusted the saddle, gonna test it soon. My hands and arms are a tired today, so maybe ill adjust the handle bars, see if that makes any difference..

All that aint got much to do with the alu frame, which like i said, i can comment on yet... maybe after the tour.. my girl is using the 520, so its steel vs. alu... haha !!

And the obligatory cockpit view

It is a Delta rack (Shock Treatment) designed for shock forks. Hooks to the brake boss and uses two clamps on the fork tube. Seems to be stable so far. I don't think I will be able to load the front panniers very heavily, but can probably keep my "kitchen" and food up there.

ah, I remember when I got my my new 2007 trek 520. So shiny and sparkly. Not anymore! It's certainly getting a workout! (Hey ang, make sure you get a better rear rack! Mine went kaput within 100km!)
