I've done a 10 day ride in June. It was supposed to be 2-3 weeks but the weather caught me by surprise, it got too cold so I cut it short. It wasn't long enough to let my mind go off of things. I will definitely do at least 3-4 week ride next year. That's a minimum. TransAm would be awesome, but perhaps is too ambitious of a goal.

I know 6 weeks of vacation is a lot, I know many folks don't even get that. I realize that some may read this and think "what the heck is he complaining about?". However, I've also met people who have way more time off because they've chosen different paths and careers that most other people would and that's where I'd like to get. I want to have even more time for myself because that is most valuable possession of mine and it can't be replenished. I realized I don't care for physical possesions except for those that serve meaningful purpose in my life.

I know, people on this forum are great and I thank you all for your thoughts and input. The replies made me think a lot and I believe they set me on the right track. I hope I have enough energy and discipline to pull this off.

trans-am....I have a friend who biked across Canada....too long for me, but hey...people do it.
You know, the Oregon-California coast trip is a great trip. I did it after doing some France trips, I think it took 3 weeks. As you can see on CGOAB, there are tons of trip ideas, lots of really cool ones of 3-4 weeks and lots that dont require you to be alone for weeks on end.
All the best with sorting out your stuff.
