I find it is hard to imagine that you wouldn't be able to get permission to park somewhere if that worried you. Maybe try a bike shop? There are a dozen or so within 10 miles of Hershey. I really can't imagine that a stop at most bike shops wouldn't yield a place to park either at the shop or at the home of one of the employees.
Have you done it? Leaving a car is problematic. First there are area rules, regs, and ordinances. Several towns in my area have overnite parking bans. They don't warn, they just tow. $250 for the tow, $60 a day for storage, plus the ticket. That and you don't get your car back if you are missing any docs, reg, ins card, license etc. Leaving a car in parking lot of a business is asking for a problem. The car is a beacon screaming steal me, or at least my contents. Is the business going to assume responsiblity for your car? Leaving at a remote lot or recreation area has the same problem. The same goes for any area that doesn't have regular overnight parking. At 2am, all alone in the lot or parking area the car sticks out. So, leaving a car, not as simple as it would seem.

The suggestion that works best is a hotel or offered driveway.

Actually yes I have many times, but no not while touring and no not in Hershey. My car has sat many weekends and long weekends in park and ride lots and on public streets. It has sat at trail heads as well. I own a car to use it and accept that there is some risk involved. That said, in more than 40 years of leaving my cars at park and ride lots, store parking lots, remote trail heads, and on public streets they have never been stolen. My cars have been broken into a couple times, but always when I was parked either in front of my house or in my parking pad.

My advice is just go there and if in doubt ask the local police. If they don't steer you right ask some local businesses, bike shops are a good bet.
