Single speed
Anyone touring on a single speed? In my bucket list when I retire is a unsupported ride from Kansas to Alaska on a single speed.
I currently ride both Road and Mountain single speeds and have done several 500 plus mile tours on my road ss. Was thinking of building a touring ss with flipflop rear wheel and two different cogs so as to allow to change ratio when needed. No not fixed!
Any thoughts?

I haven't toured, yet, but since SS is my daily ride of choice it's natural that I should want to do a tour.
It's going to be a short, 3 day road tour in hilly terrain. Seatpost rack, rear panniers only, tarp shelter, 20lbs max including the rack and panniers. I'm going to use my everyday gearing, 76gi, 20lbs aint that much, I'll just ride a little slower.
