hi everybody
its my third day of riding in chile and its great
i left santiago with Udi, who lives 5 second from my house in israel, he bought a jeep, we puted the bike and all the otherstuff in the back sit and went south. the first stop was near san fernando 150 km south of santiago. udi wanted to go to a place where a plane of urugian national soccer team crashed, and they didnt know there is a villige 20 min walking from them so they ate each other, but the road was close. so we went 100 km ferder south to park national siete tasas ( seven cups ) where the rio claro ( the river clear ) from a canyon in shape of seven cup feeled in water and the water flow from one to a nother ( no pict, i dont have digital camera). another park in the same place called park inglece there we made a short walk to view snowed peek volcanos, nice springs, rivers, black woodpeker, very beatifull kaktus which are flowering now andsome snakes.
although it was beauitifull day, we decided to break our relation, udi droped in los angeles, chile ( not california ) on the pan am 500 km south of santiago, from there i m riding .
the first day wasnt easy, i had opposite wind all the day and it took me some time to realise that a strange noise i hear is the brake touching the front wheel i was riding most of the way with brake . i stoped nearcollipolli about 70 km from los angeles in a gas station, yes in a gas station, the gas station on the roads allow you to to build a tent in a area ment for this and even take a hot water shower for 1$.
then i slept in victoria 40 km south and now i m in curacautin. the end of the road today was very beatifull it runs between forested hills with streem between and snow pick volcanos in the backround.
i m planning to explore this area in the next few days there r some national parks here whith volcanos, lakes, forests, hot springs and its writen i might see a condor.
and the i will go to temuco.
ffrom the spring in chile with mi bikes bless you all

Sounds like you guys are off on a great tour. I just saw a new film last night, "The Motorcycle Diaries", about these two Argentinian doctors touring thru Chile & Peru on a single motorcycle in the early 50's. Spectacular scenery. Some of the towns you mentioned are in this film.

Maybe you could drop a PM to Joe and have him host your travel diary in "Hosted Travelogues" -section?
