High Point to Cape May
Hello all:
I attempted the High Point to Cape May (New Jersey) tour about two years ago but unfortunately had to stop early. Now that I have some time on my hands, I'm contemplating giving it another try. Although I am very familiar with the published route in northern jersey as well as southern jersey, central jersey seems to offer little in the way of camping.
Can anyone offer some advise about stopping points in central jersey?
Thanks-
George

You say "the published route," so it sounds like you mean riding between the two points via a specific route. Without knowing the specific route, it's hard to suggest camping spots. Also, what do you consider "central Jersey?"
In any event, try this to locate state facilities with campgrounds:

If you have a general idea of how far you can cover each day, you can also find campgrounds by going to Google Maps and typing in "campgrounds near [name of town]"

Bikes: I tour on a Waterford Adventurecycle. It is a fabulous touring bike.
I rode the NJ bike path from Cape May to Lambertville.
I was carrying camping gear though didn't use it in New Jersey (couchsurfing and motels). My recollection was north of Cape May was suburban, followed by the Pine Barrens, followed by the military bases and the farm fields.
As I recall, the map/guide provided information about turns and services along the route, but necessarily off route.
I didn't go north of Lambertville, so have no information about from there north.
You can read my journal of this part of my ride up the mid-Atlantic Coast.
