A Click-Stand Alternative
I live in Seoul, South Korea where I recently found an imitation Click-Stand product. I am not sure which one came fist but I bought it to try out anyways since I have always wanted to try a Click-Stand. It cost 25,000 Won which equals about $20 US. My friend who owns a real Click-stand was with me when I bought it and said my imitation was lighter than his. I have tried it with the bike unloaded and it seemed to work well. Do Click-Stand owners use a rubber band wheel brake? I will try and test it loaded next weekend and post the results. Here is a link to the product on their website which is from Taiwan. What do you think?

Looks good. It's different where and how it connects to the bike. As far as Clickstand being heavier, there are several different load capable Clickstands to choose from. Mine is specific to touring and tandem bicycles...I have a friend who bought a lighter version (by mistake), it was too flimsy to work with a heavy touring bike.

Ya, again, I have never owned or used a Click-stand but since I live in Korea it was hard to source one, so I bought this knock off. I actually like the way this one attaches to the bike a little better than the one I have seen on Click-stands but need to use it more to decide.
In the package comes a small neoprene sack with two velco straps on the back. The sac holds the stand and the straps can be tied around your top tube or seat tube easily. The package also comes with a velco strap to tie your front break. However, I don t think I can use it because, by way of its design, I can not get it around my handlebars on my Surly LHT because of the wire for my bar end shifters. I will have to buy a different kind of velco strap but the one included should work with most handlebars/shifter combos.

Essentially a 1/2" diameter, stiff, multi segment tent pole, will do,
just make it long enough.
parts : 2 diameters of aluminum tubing one that fits inside the other.
some elastic cord, and a couple caps, for the ends,
that will also hold the ends, Of the elastic cord.
I found a ball knob that goes over a knot in a loop of elastic cord.
I use it to hold my front brake, to lock the bike to a pole, so it wont fall over.
how tight depends on where you tie the knot.
just make it long enough.
