Continental Contact Extra Light Tire

My LHT came with City Contacts on it (26") and I've been looking for an equivalent folding version. I found the Contact Extra Light but a) nobody has it in stock in a 26" version and b) the prices range from 40 to 60 bucks a tire (wtf?)

Does anyone have a source for this tire OR does anyone have another folding tire close enough to the City Contact to use?

Try chainreactioncycles. They have a great variety and cater to the euro trekking crowd who covet the larger volume touring tires. Even with shipping they can be a good deal a lot of times. I took a quick look and they have the travel contacts in folding FWIW.

It almost seems as though these specific tires have been discontinued (Surly has changed to Michelin City on their 26" rims). I'm not having good luck at all. Time to search the forums for previous folding tire suggestions.

I'm really happy with my folding 26x2.0 Schwalbe Dureme tires.
They have a light tread pattern. But I think you will gag at the price.

Travel Contact is their adventure touring tire 26-1,75"
a slick center band for paved roads, and a row of knobs
on the edges for dirt roads.
