map apps for ipod touch

I've been looking around and can't seem to find a map app for i-Pod Touch or i-Phone that lets you use it offline. I don't need anything complicated. I'm looking for something that works like Google Maps or MapQuest, but is downloadable as opposed to needing wifi or a phone connection to work. Does anyone have or know of an app that will do this?

Motion X GPS and Navigon. Check on the app store. I use Navigon in my car. People swear by Motion X GPS. Downloadable maps, no phone network connection needed as long as your ipod T has a working GPS built in.

Check out OpenMaps by IZE. It works offline and supports the cycling maps from opencyclemap.org.

ForeverMap by Skobbler $0.99 from the iTunes Store is based on Open Street Maps and works offline. It has an average rating of 4 stars from 271 reviews.

You can search the store for "OpenStreetMap" and "OpenCycleMap" for more matches.

2nding MotionX GPX. That's what I use on my iPod Touch and iPad to keep good map data that's accessible without internet. You can also save routes and waypoints, which is also helpful. With the iPad, which has GPS, I can also record my tracks without having actually paid for or be using a cellular data plan.

Don't forget that iPod Touch devices do not have built-in GPS, so any map apps won't be able to work in "real time" unless you add an external GPS chip like this one from Magellan:
