ACA Sierra Cascade Route camping
HI there,
I'm planning on taking the ACA Sierra Cascade route from Truckee to Mt Rainier and am having a hard time finding out how much I can expect to pay for camping along the way. Does anyone know of a resource I can use or have recent experience with the route?
Thank you!
Megan

Cheapest method is to camp for free where allowed on public land, or stealth camp...or ask to share a campsite (takes some guts). California State Parks (Donner at Truckee, Burney Falls north of Lassen) have hike and bike sites that used to be $3-$6 a few years ago. After that come USFS campgrounds that vary from $15-$25 a nite, and private campgrounds that may range from very cheap to outrageous.
Oregon and Washington State Parks (are there any on the route?) may also have hike and bike sites. National Park campsites: I've only stayed at the campgrounds in Lassen Park, Manzanita and Summit Lakes, and they are both great sites, and run about the same as USFS campgrounds.
