I am genuinely interested in your concept, but right now I don't understand what makes it different from the other long-tail bikes available. I like your idea for pack ability, but given the lack of consumer available couplings, I want to know how you plan to join the tubes.

Can you just give a quick sketch of your plan for the frame?

1.) Have you toured on any of your bikes? if so, where? how far? Where do you plan to tour in the future?

2.) What was your setup? (front and back racks? handlebar bag and frame pack? strapping things to the top of a back rack?)

3.) What specific troubles did you have touring that made you want to consider your design?

4.) Are any of your bikes designed specifically with touring in mind?

5.) Have you ever had a specific event where you couldn't carry what you needed to on your bike due to the frame (as opposed to the bags/racks you had equipped on it)? If so explain.

These questions are relevant because they attempt to identify your specific needs and possibly offer a better alternative to redesigning the wheel. Answering these questions may provide insight into design ideas you want to incorporate (or not incorporate!).

You have an ever so Romney style of explaining things, and by that I mean you're being so vague nobody can get any useful information to help you. We need specifics!

are you a frame builder ??

if not, then I do not see any point explaining my YDI plan and mechanical issues.

for the sake of conversation
lets assume that I have 10 000 dollars to spend
I will find willing framebuilder , and he will order S&S couplings

NOW please CONCENTRATE
ON real discussion

Past that .. NB Bikeschool.com has a long list of frame-builders under resources ,

https://www.bikeschool.com/resources/bike-industry-links

go find someone to pay to do your work,
and drop the useless argument you seem to want to maintain.

or go annoy the posters in the framebuilding section, here..
https://www.bikeforums.net/forumdispl...-Framebuilders

so the folks can go back to the tours themselves.

I looked into this type of mod myself, until I realized that the cost of fabrication greatly exceeded the convenience it enabled. It's alot of oversized baggage charges to make up for installation of S&S couplers and cargo bike mods on a tandem.

Wait, what is the real discussion, if not how and why one would build up the frame you proposed? What do you want out of this thread (aside from the obvious chaos), you seem set on your idea, but won't talk about how you want to do it, nor will you talk about it in relation to other peoples touring experiences.

hehehehe
political jabbing ?
how low can you go with simple heated discussion about stupid frame and somebody's idea

I hope You are not public servant or teacher with fat pension paid by undereducated taxpayers.

PS - lets talk about touring on one & 1/2 bike instead of politics
PLEASE

From: On the bridge with Picard

Bikes: Specialized Allez, Specialized Sirrus

I think everyone has pretty much given their opinion on this idea.
