I'd love to cycle with you or anyone else for that matter. Unfortunately, that won't happen anytime soon. Still need to work. I host a lot of cyclists through the warm showers website and I'm always amazed at the wonderful people I've met through it. I suggest you sign up there and start looking for places to stay. You'll meet lots of like minded people once you're on the road. Have a wonderful adventure!

Try the Brisbane bicycle touring association http://www.bbta.org/ we rode with them a couple of times when we toured Queensland in 2008 with the Cycle touring association of western australia. Good folks, will give you a chance to try a bunch of different rides and learn about what does and does not work in regards to bikes and gear. It would also be a chance to meet potential ride partners and make sure you are compatible travelling buddies before heading off into the unknown. The adventure cycling association in the USA also has a section in their magazine and online for finding touring partners.

I was about to ignore this thread because you said you were traveling on a push bike, never having heard that term I assumed it meant some sort of kids scooter!

Anyways, I will be touring in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia at the end of March. I wouldn't mind a traveling partner for at least part of the trip. Send me a PM if you want.

Are you serious ... you've never heard that term for a bicycle? It's used in both Australia and the UK. Not a good description for a bicycle, but what can you do ... that's what non-cyclists call it.

Nope never. I grew up in Arizona, where we mostly just called them bicycles or bikes. Sometimes steeds.
