Fenders for Short Reach Brakes

I'm "reincarnating" my '88 Schwinn Premis as a light tourer for day trips/supported club tours, etc. (I stripped off all the ugly blue/mauve/purple paint scheme and repainting it British Racing Green or something close to that). The frame is lugged Columbus Tenec tubing and it has short reach brakes and NO fender/rack stays.

I'm wondering if there are suitable fenders available for this frame. Will the SKS P35's work? Although it's not a touring bike it does have sort of longish chainstays and horizontal dropouts. I don't plan on using a rack at this time.

I bought this frame and a full complement of RX100 parts (no wheels) for $10 from a bike collector friend so the price was right. The bike looks like it's hardly been ridden except the paint was badly chipped and scratched.

Without fender stays you'd have to kludge something together, like mounting the fenders through the quick release or something(danger!)? Hose clamps might work as well.

Another fender option might be SKS' "race blade" model, even though they'r not "full fenders". I'm thinking of setting these up on my fixed gear project, if they come in silver rather than black.

Some models listed: here, on REI. the race blades are few bellow the p35's.

Edit: I found the silver ones on QBP.
