Floods in India
There is a huge disaster in India in the Uttarakhand state which is home to many scenic mountain touring routes. Roads are washed away and some towns have come in the path of mudslides. I wonder if any known cycle tourists are affected.

The news says over 600 people are dead, and another unknown number are missing. It is a disaster for all the people there, tourists or inhabitants.
There seem to be too many disastrous floods and weather related incidents recently. Floods in Northern India, the Pyrennees, the Canadian Rockies, and Southern Germany; and monster tornados in the US. This is what some climate scientists said would be one possible effect of global warming. Of course you cannot prove one or even a number of events are connected to global warming, but you have to wonder.
