5 Day Tour to or from San Francisco?

I love the Northern Cali coast and I'm trying to figure out a nice 5ish day tour either to or from San Francisco for my first real tour. I am expecting to be using the bus system. I looked into the Lost Coast tour, but that may be a bit ambitious. I live in Montana and bike about 30-40 miles three days a week at elevation, so I'm in pretty good shape. Breweries would be an added bonus along the way. Am I crazy???
Cheers
Jeb

Here's one suggestion:

Fly to SF, rent a car or take the bus or hitchike to Leggett, ride back to SF. 4-6 days. Not sure about breweries, but there are bakeries for sure.

Another possibility a little further south:

Start in San Francisco (or San Jose) - cycle south along the coast via Monterrey, Big Sur, Cambria to San Luis Obisbo. Take the train back to San Jose/San Francisco. If that distance is too short then keep going and catch the train in Santa Barbara instead.

I will also be going on my first "real" tour in August with a few friends and relatives. San Francisco to Santa Barbara. Driving to SF, leaving truck there, renting van in SB to get back to truck (cost effective because there are a bunch of us). We're doing 7 days and definitely taking it easy... Here is the itinerary if you are interested. Brother-in-law came up with it; its all new to me:

Day 1 - 56.5mi - Half Moon Bay (just south of SF) - New Brighton State Beach
Day 2 - 40.8mi - To Vets Memorial Park (through Monterey, with its awesome aquarium, and with lots of side-route options)
Day 3 - 60.2mi - To Kirk Creek Campground (through Big Sur)
Day 4 - 40.0mi - To San Simeon state beach (by Point Sur and Hearst Castle)
Day 5 - 52.6mi - To Oceano Campground (through Morro Bay state park and Pismo dune reserve)
Day 6 - 61.6mi - To Gaviota State Park (inland hills)
Day 7 - 30.4mi - To Santa Barbara!

I'll be watching this thread to see what you get for brewery recommendations!
