Frontier has some pretty attractive airfare rates to TTN from CLE (but they only have 2 flights weekly).

OK, here is more info!
We will be starting in Delaware and riding to St Louis, then we pick up the Lewis & Clark route to Astoria,Oregon. Then ,hopefully, down the Pacific coast to San Jose.
We will be riding LHT's this tour instead of our tandem. Plan to do a CGOAB journal also.

Around what date do you think you will hit, say, Helena, MT?

We have not planned out that far so I can really say. I'm thinking we should hit St. Louis about May 8 or so. That is all I have thought through.

in '96 i had reason to leave Bar Harbor Maine in the 3rd week of May with plans to reach Sacramento, CA. via Anacortes Islands WA. good time to leave. weather was fine all the way. i'm sure you can extrapolate for your journey.

Depending on the type of winter they have been having, MT can be cold and damp in early June. We rode south out of Missoula at the end of June of '11. Hit the first stretch of nice weather all summer. The week before we arrived, snow was predicted in several areas. The day we landed at MSO there was about 2" of rain in Darby, where we would pass through the next day. A few weeks before we left I found a CGOB journal where the author had to get a ride over the pass between Ennis and Virginia City due to heavy snow. Even though we lucked out with precipitation, we still had some sub-40 nights.
