...... where do you get them at a good price? I'm not finding too many sales going on right now & need some help, I figuire that there should be some close outs or something going on this time of the year. Or did I miss them?

They don't have smart wool. But the merino wool socks they have took me through a wet winter without freezing my toes off. Thier wool jerseys are decent quality also when you can find one that fits

Get Merino wool socks. They might cost more but they are terrific. They are cool in heat and warm in cold. They also last a long time (two years for sure). I wear them at work and at play. Wearing them, you don't need a liner sock either.

I also bought my smartwool socks at REI. I thought they were reasonable. You didn't say which ones you wanted, but here is REI's Smartwool Socks Page.

go to www.sierratradingpost.com they have an array of closeout smartwools in stock. my favorite winter sock is the merino wool snowboard sock...they are long enought to cover most of my calf and tuck undo my knickers

also look at dahlgren alpaca wool socks ...they are very comfy but they will "shed"

I get my stuff at REI and EMS, they are mostly used in my boots for outdoors reasons.

Have you tried www.campmor.com ? I've had good luck with them; our scout troop buys a metric buttload of stuff from them every year.

EMS, a sporting/outdoor/cmaping store on the east coast. EMS = eastern mountain sports.
