I'm in Tampa

I made it to Tampa yesterday afternoon. I have been averaging about 75-80 miles a day. This is coming from a guy who hadn't ridden more than 10 miles until the week before the trip. My legs are dead, so I'll just catch up with my friend for today and maybe even tomm. I'm not sure which road I'll be taking along the the west coast of Florida because I don't have my atlas with me right now. I would like to say that US 41 around Naples and Ft Myers have very good sidewalks and bike lanes. I do have to warn that from the outskirts of North Port to Venice, there are long stretches of road where there are no shoulders. So you have to ride in the right lane for a while. The aerobars I have on my bike allow you to assume a very confortable position(good for the back and especially the arms), but there is one problem: the position you assume when you put your forearms on the aerobars hurts my balls. So, I try not to use the bars for longer than 20 min stretches.

Sorry I missed you. I would've ridden with you through Sarasota. Have fun and enjoy the journey!
