Looking for a cross country mate or group for this spring.
Fresh off the heals of doing the GAP/ C&O, I've lost my job. I've always said that if that happened I'd use the time to do something special, and I've always wanted to do a cross country. I'm 57, in great shape, and thinking of a San Francisco to Virginia type itinerary. But obviously, I'm open. I'm thinking of self-supported, with tent/bivi, fairly minimal hotel/motel -- and am flexible on the size of the group also. And I've done no other planning -- I'd thought I'd get on here first and see if anyone else is planning a trip. Thanks.

Congratulations on losing your job! Sounds like a perfect time to retire, and take care of number one! I got laid off due to budget constraints last May. I had been planning a cross country Canadian tour for the last couple years, to celebrate turning 50 this year. That is happening. When I return from my trip in early September, I will not be looking for a new job either. Told my wife, if the money that comes in from our investments isn't enough for our family to live on, YOU go get a job. I'm done. LOL. Would love to go with you, but already committed to the Canadian tour. Enjoy your trip.
