I've already screwed up the threading probably. The DA goes on well enough and seems to hold, so I'll probably keep using it.

As for the hub, it's still messed up. I bought the tool from Uptown Cycles yesterday (for $1), and I disassembled it. What happens is that when the lockring is tightened, it tightens down on the dust cap. So what I'm gonna do is just file the dust cap down a bunch so it doesn't touch. I figure I'm racing on the track and they're cartridge bearings, so I'll be fine. Might file down the preload side too if I can to keep it from rubbing. The bearing preload was fine, it's just the caps getting compressed by the cogs and lockrings.

Are you sure that you are putting the cog on the correct side? The words etched into the cog should face away from the bike.

Yeah, the words are out (although it's a PITA, the lockring covers up the tooth number).

Get some paint pens (or some craft paint) and color the inside of each cog a unique color for the tooth count like this:

came up with some friends and teammates from atlanta to race last night. this place is great! such a huge difference from the DLV. everything happens so much quicker on a 250m track!

does anyone know where the results are posted?
