Creatine and Gatorade...

Is it a worthwhile investment to purchase some creatine and use it with gatorade? I was told that creatine was good for short term energy bursts but what about a 25-40 mile ride? What would be a better energy drink?

creatine is good for a 10 second burst of power, not energy. there was a good thread on this a little while ago that would be worth looking up.

Yes for rides over an hour. It will help you ride longer. The 150Cals in the G-aid wont hurt weight loss much when a 2hour ride can burn 1400+

Be careful with creatine, especially if you're riding hills, or in the heat. I used to use it when weightlifting and cycling, but it seemed to trigger cramping if I attempted longer rides in the hlls or the heat.

I now use it only during the winter when I lift weights and I'm trying to bulk up a bit.

Many college football teams stopped using creatine because of increase in cramping

-Yes. If you are competing in power sports or events.
-Rides longer than a couple of minutes it will have no effect.
-A better energy drink would be Extran, Endura, Maxim, etc etc. Gatorade is a consumer product designed to taste like lolly water for the mass market to feel they have some kind of connection to elite sport.
