Effects of ejaculation on performance
Hi, first off this is from a male perspective, and as a disclaimer, I'm quite frank about these kinda things.
Well, about 7 or 8 months ago, due to teenage boredom, I decided to see how long I could go without masturbating (the answer? two weeks). I found that when I done some challenging hills, my performance was better. Does refraining from ejaculating make you perform better? I once heard that coaches advised athletes to not have sex during training for an event.
Anyone have any insight?

My husband used to refrain from getting intimate before an important event.
Cited something like decreased testosterone levels? I haven't a clue if there's anything to it, and I don't think he follows that rule any more and is still doing quite well in the races. Hope this helps.

Do some of your own research and do a google on "sexual activity athletic performance" Here is one article.

mens' health magazzine said there is an average 7% surge in testosterone after ejaculation, so that's not it... i have heard this before, and most people i know who have tried this said that ejaculation has nothing to do with performance(or at least on the bike
) over two weeks, maybe it was just your training and fitness improving? maybe you ate a little healthier during that time? there are so many other factors that could affect your performance that you, adn most people, probably don't keep close tabs on.

After you fire that first batch over your shoulder for the day, I would recommend waiting 10-15 minutes for the rubbery feeling in your knees to go away. Then you should be good to go!!

I can always make love after a bike ride, but riding after lovin' is much more difficult. I think a 12-hour rule is safe.

I don't think I could have any insight that might be useful to someone so unusual.

This thread is funny... but I should be able to tell you the answer in about 6 months. Having lower levels of testosterone does effect performance substantially though...
All those things I missed when I was your age...
(I am a 23 year old in a 15 year old body... hmmm!)

good for one to be a married guy with normal outlets. Couple weeks going w/o. well, then it would be good to be wearing soccer shorts over bike shorts while on a public bus. those nasty high school coeds gets on the bus and they don't care.
talk nasty in public don't give a darn. . should be outlawed. public manners is not what it used to be. just something I noticed while out in public. worse than hearing private conversations on cell phones.

I call "bullsh*t." I can't believe that there's any normal teenager that can go 2 weeks without buffing the helmet.
As far as the actual question, I believe that Prof. Stengel answered that:
The trouble is not that players have sex the night before a game. It's that they stay out all night looking for it.

This discussion is starting to dovetail nicely into the recent thread about energy gels.
