training tips anyone??
Hi all. I`ve been following some tips from Lance Armstrong Performance Program book and im eager to learn the fast cadence. Basically, i ride on weekends only. But these few weeks, i begin to train more(tuesday till sunday with off day on monday) and did about 30km ride in an hour. That is an average of 30km/h. Mainly, i just concentrate on learning faster cadence which, hopefully, about 95-110rpm. I dont have cadence meter so i just playing some guessing game. However, i dont feel comfortable pedalling at high cadence. I run a 13-25t cassette and normally on 4th lightest gear. At first, i suspected the bike setting. I tried to lower down the seatpost and bring up the stem height so that i feel more comfortable. Some articles recommend us to bring forward the saddle to acheive faster cadence but i need to streng for climbing and i set my saddle as far as possible. Do you guys think i should train more instead of changing the bike setup? Im into this training for about 2 weeks only. Maybe its too early to make any speculation about my performance gain...

Set your seat in the middle position. Scoot forward for spinning, scoot backwards for climbing... then train more... lots.. after 3,000-5,000 miles, fast cadence develops naturally...

hehe...alright. I just checked my saddle setting. Eventually, the saddle is too far behind. Im using selle italia oktavia saddle and the saddle sits beyond the indicator mark "3".
Maybe its better for me to explain my physical height. Im 180cm and using a 56cm frame. anyway, thanks for those replies. really appreciate it! Im going to set the saddle to 2 or 2 half maybe.
