Weight maintenance
I monitor my weight every morning to always know where I am at. When I was working on my base training at the beginning of the season, I was always maintaining around 152 ~ 153 lbs. Once my base was set I started to add a little more hill work in my riding week. The miles are the same, just a bit more intensity (I ride mainly for fitness, aerobic with a little anaerobic, and don't need much red line stuff). While keeping the same diet as I have been, I notice that I am putting on weight, and it seems to be the morning after a harder hill ride. I now see weights of 157 lbs on these mornings and then will go back down to about 155 lbs. until my next hill day; in which it will go back up. I usually do hills every four days or so. Any ideas why the different weights? Thanks.

It's normal to fluctuate 1 to 2 pounds from day to day. So, if you're going from 155 to 157, that's perfectly normal. If you're going from a starting weight of 152/153 to 157 (4 to additional pounds), then my guess would be that you're compensating for higher intensity workouts with more food/water. Other than possible water retention, I've not heard of a "condition" that might cause this temporary weight gain. If you're feeling good and your performance reflects that, I wouldn't worry about these couple extra pounds.

my weight can fluxuate by up to 6llbs sometimes. It ussually has to do with the amount of food currently in my system and how much water I have drank during the day. Sometimes my body just want to retain water and then one day if gets rid of it all.
