Yep, this is right on target. Obviously, you want to approach this with caution, but getting into your max HR zone is gonna boost your metabolism to a higher rate than low intensity effort. I'm not saying that the lower intensity workouts don't work, they do. That sort of workout may be most appropriate for you at this point, but when your fitness level is such that you can tolerate a more intense workout, you should definitely think about incorporating one or two of them into your weekly schedule. Raising your metabolism will result in your body burning more calories even when it's just idling, not to mention the jump in total calories used during a workout.
