Great NYT article about weight-loss

Good article that addresses problems with common misconceptions about weight and weight loss.

If I had had the attitude that this article seems to encourage, I would have never gained 15-20 lbs. of muscle through hard work and eating right. And if I had that attitude right now, I wouldn't be able to keep my weight where it is at the present.

I guess I should just give up and eat whatever I want. After all, it's not my fault. My genes made me do it.

Sounds like a new twist on the "It's not my fault, my parents made me this way!" argument.

This article is more excuses for people that dont want to take responsibility for the actions that make them obese. 3 years ago i was 350 lbs, if this article were true then 1) it was not my fault 2) maybe that was what i was supposed to be.

Well i finally took responsiblity for my actions and changed just about everything in my lifestyle, now im 220lbs, hopefully to be 190 soon. So i know what lifestyle changes and hardwork can do. you just have to want to do it and most don't. they are waiting for science to create a magic pill.
