Broken Foot training

So I have recently broken my foot which means no biking for 5 weeks and no leg work outs. So would doing core workouts or upper body help me for my biking when i return? if yes, what exercises are good for the upperbody/core?

Core and upper body weights will keep you strong but it won't do much for cardio. Can you swim or maybe ride a stationary bike?

okay, so ill just have to strengthen my core and upper body then. And no i cant due to it being a no pressure cast, and its not one of those waterproofs cast either which is kind of a bummer. Luckily core work helps for biking. Thanks for your help though!

How did you break you foot? I ask because my wife is in surgery right now from a fall on a curb on Friday evening. Her ankle hit right at the top of the curb and snap!! I'm anxious to see how others have bounced back from such an injury. She'll be receiving plates and screws in place of pins. Good luck with the foot and I'll be tagging along to follow your progress even though she broke her ankle and not her foot but I could learn something to help her.

I was playing a game of flag football, and i rolled my foot inwards, breaking the tip of my right tibia. it didnt fully break off, so im hoping for a good repair. And im sorry to hear about you wife's ankle. I am in the cast for another 4 more weeks, so ill keep you updated about the recovery and what the Doctor tells me how to recover faster so maybe the tips i could pass along to you for your wife.
