Hammer Nutrition HEED and did it work for you
For the supplement of HEED made by Hammer Nutrition. It is supposed to give you amazing energy before a ride.
Is this true?
for all of you who have used it. What did you experience? Did it work for you? how much of an energy boost did you feel? experience?
I like some feedback before going out to buy some and not having it work.
thanks

See if you can buy a few single packets and try it. Energy drinks tend to be intensely personal, and one person can't stand what another thinks is great.
FWIW, I think HEED needs to be mixed with Gatorade (which I can't stand). Heed has no flavor to me, so diluting some ghastly stuff would actually make it go down better.

HEED is just maltodextrin with some other stuff in it. It's not an "energy drink." It does help with feeding during a ride and I suppose you could drink it before a ride, too. You'll only get "amazing energy" if you are usually nutritionally depleted. I like the low level of taste because it doesn't get old quick. I like the Melon. One of its better features is that it has a lot of xylitol in it, so it doesn't rot your teeth out like most sports drinks.

I love hammer products but no where does it say heed gives amazing energy. It's a fueling option for short duration events with a bit of electrolyte mixd in.
I personally stopped using it because it's sticky, and when my mouth dried at all, the sticky was too bad for me. I use their electrolyte fizz for my drink now and use gels for short rides, and a combo of gels and Laura bars for longer rides.
When hiking I use perpepteum...I love it, but it's too much for me to try and take on long rides and mix in bottles.
