Ouch...New at spinning need a seat cover!

If anyone knows people on BikeForums will know.
I am new at spinning and I need a cover for the seat
at the gym. Any GREAT suggestions. It hurts so it
has to be great. Shoes will follow if you know of good
ones as well.

???? Why do you need a seat cover? What is the problem you are trying to solve. If something hurts, my first suggestion would be to adjust the seat and handlbar position. Most modern spin bikes have more adjustments available than an actual road bike.

Adjust positions and perhaps a nice pair of shorts.

Yep ... adjust the bicycle to fit you better.

And stand. I am not in a spinning class at the moment, I just use the spin bikes at the gym on my own. i start by sitting and spinning for 6 minutes, then tighten up the resistance and stand for 1 minute, then I sit and spin for 5 minutes, then stand for 1 minute, etc. Standing every now and then relieves the pressure ... it's also tougher and gives me more of a workout.

As for shoes, get something with a really stiff sole.

The first class I actually got a blister on my rear. And my inbetween was really sore the next day.
I had knee replacement last year and my knee is stiff so maybe the seat is to high?
Can you give me a brand on the shoes?

You need bike shorts. For both shorts and shoes, go to a bike shop and see how much you want to spend and what fits you. Other than that, don't give up on it. Your butt will get used to it, once you have proper bike shorts. Have your spin instructor show you how to adjust your bike so it fits you.

Thank you everyone for all of your help.
I will get bike shorts, make sure the seat and handlebars are adjusted to fit me. I knew all of you
would be able to help. Keep Helping us newbies!

Another thought is to ask the spin instructor to help you set up the spin bike. Try to arrange to meat her/him ten minutes before a class starts. Be sure to mention about your knee. The bikes usually have setting markings on them. Be sure to write down what worked for you because the person in the next class will likely change it and you'll want to be able to reset the bike for your next spin.

It hasn't been made clear, to get a pair of shorts with padding, some come without. Also, if you have a pair of shorts you like, maybe consider cycling liners (skin tight underwear, with padding) to wear underneath.
