Entry Level Road Bike
I'm 62 years old and recently got into sprint triathlons. I have done two so far and have done them on my Giant hybrid. Looking to purchase an entry level road bike. Would like to stay under $1000.00 if possible. Looking for speed more than comfort, but I am going to be doing my first Ragbrai this summer and would need to use it for that also. Would appreciate any help because I really don't have a clue as to what I am looking for. I would like to buy something new if possible. Thanks.

Bikes: Kuota Ksano. Litespeed T5 gravel - brilliant!
You'll get more help, real help, if you can be a bit more specific. It's a bummer to spend time recommending the XXX when the OP hates the company that makes the XXX.
For $1000 you should be able to afford a good bike for your triathlons. A Cannondale CAAD8 comes to mind. Trek, Giant, Specialized, etc they all have those same style bikes.
