How old

Regarding Patriot's two cents - that notion is supported if you just look at the standings. I think most of the women at the top of the lists are/were over 30. Some of the names that come to mind are Heather Fuhr, Michellie Jones, Barb Lundquist, Sheila Taormina, Julie Swail, and of course Paula Newby-Fraser. (Just pulling names from my head here...) We improve with age

However, as mid-life crisis responses go, it has considerable health and financial advantages over other well known responses (e.g., Corvettes, divorcing the first wife to marry a 20-something trophy wife, etc.).

I decided to do it after having a whole year where I could barely do anything do to some health problems. Once I had my health back, I just HAD to go and do something, in this case the triathlon, that I had always said I would do, but was too lazy to try before I became ill.
