I have looked at the Profile Design Airstryke and it seems like a good feature that they move out of the way for climbing but have heard people mention things about construction and noise. So does anyone have a recomendation on what may be better?

I think they had some design problems with the first model but that was some time ago. I have a set that I've never installed (and never will)...they seem well made.

If you don't mind my asking why not? And would you be interested in selling them? And or would you recommend something better?Originally Posted by cjbruin

AKA: Tri-Dummy
I use the Profile Carbon Stryke w/bar end shifters. Very comfortable, sturdy, no noise.
I have also been warned of the rattling that will drive you nuts on the retractable pads... That's the reason I rode Syntace's for a while and then Profiles with the immoveable pads. I have always been happy with both.

I ride the "flip up" profile aero bars and rather like them. I live in very hilly country and need the tops for climbing. They did rattle a little, on the chip and seal roads( if you dont live in the sticks you may not know what those are). I took a little mole skin and cut little pieces to put inside the brackets, where they contact. It took the noise away considerably. The older style did have pins that worked there way out, causing the arms to fall off( yes I did have to utilize a rear pocket of the old cycle jersey on one particular ride) an email to profile, got me two new bracket tops and I was stylin again. I like em, so ok, C Ya.

Sorry for the tardiness of my response. I've been traveling non-stop these days. I bought them thinking that I would put them on my roadie...until it occured to me that I wouldn't be able to get a good fit out of it...so I went ahead and bought my Cervelo.Originally Posted by tcsmedes

I've been meaning to post them on e-bay but I keep procrastinating. I'm a much better buyer than seller. Do you want them? They're brand-spankin-new.
