Mounting devices between aero bars

I recently purchased a polar heart rate monitor/speedometer (720i) and am trying to figure out a way to mount it between my aero bars. The problem is that the watch mounts direcly to the bar and the center of the space between my aero bars (where I'd like to mount the watch) is where my stem attaches. The mount is too wide to fit on either side of the stem connection and I don't want to space the aero bars any farther apart than they currently are. Does anybody know of an intermediate member that can be asymetrictally attached to the handle bar that would provide a means of attaching the polar mount? Or perhaps a horizontal connection between the two aero bars? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
