Specialized Transition Pro 2008?
So I have always rode Specialized MTB, so a few months back I got bit by the tri bug and decided I needed a new tri bike, went around the shops in my area and saw quite a bit from Cervelo, Felt, Kuota, Scott, Planet X but all seemed a bit over my (intial) budget. After many sleepless nights I finally bought the Specialized Transition Frameset, put Full Ultegra, Tri2 saddle, profile design aero bars and Mavic Cosmic elite wheels (ending spending more than initally planned anyways). As my first tri bike I have nothing to compare it to but I like it so far... I have been thinking of getting a pair of Zipp 606 wheels for racing; I am planning on doing my first sprint in 3 weeks and a the bike leg on a half IM in Sep; after this I will likely do 2-3 Sprints or OD before the end of the year, my goal at the moment is a Half IM in 2008. Now, the problem - I just saw the 2008 Transition on the web and I like it, I was thinking of upgrading from my current transition as soon as it comes out, it just seems a much better bike with the carbon frame, and apparently one of the most aero?, now I am considering that If I am going to upgrade I might as well go for a Cervelo P2 or Kuota Kal as it seems to be what most guys are riding around my area. Any thoughts on how these bikes compare? Is the New Transition in the same league as the best bikes out there or not?

According to triathletemag the new transition is the bomb but here is something to help you with. I don't know you or your skill level on the bike but I would say you spent a whole lot of money for something you may or may not enjoy. Feel your bike out get used to it. The 606s are great but considering your level in tri I would say just do your thing get a few under your belt then start talking about the upgrades. Thats just my two cents!

wait, so you haven't done a tri yet and you've already spent how much on a tri bike? and are thinking of spending how much more?
