Getting Ready for my first Sprint
I am new to the sport but so far I am loving every minute of my training. Last January, I had reconstructive knee surgery on my left knee. I tore my ACL, MCL, and also had a tear of the miniscus. After about a year, I can finally run 2-3 miles without pain. However, I do have to keep the miles reasonably low as the miniscus is still tender. I have a couple of screws and also a "button" in my knee so I am a little bionic
Needless to say, I am really excited to be able to bouce back and complete one if not a couple of sprint tri's this summer. The swimming and the biking are going well and I do not experience too much pain completing either one of those activities. My primary goal is just to finish without walking but I would like to finish somewhere in the lower middle of the pack.
I have been browsing this site for weeks and I am impressed by the community you guys have here!

Awesome.
I'm about 2 years out from my 2nd ACL (one each side) reconstruction (first was in '04). Each time was almost a year before I was running comfortably. Looking forward to my first sprint tri in May.
Keep fighting the good fight!
