With my first tri coming in 2 months I came to the conclusion that I want to have 2 sets of wheels for my cyclocross bike. I want to use my current Alex DC19 with 700x32 tires for the trails and another for road training and triathlons.

I narrowed it down to pair of Soul S3.0 or S4.0 clinchers. I would like some wheels that could take a beating in training and used for racing as well so I am not sure if the S4.0 would be a better choice over the S3.0.

Even though I am using my cyclocross bike for everything right now, next year I want to buy a full on Tri bike with some C8.5 wheels once I get a couple of triathlons under my belt.

Also I am not sure on what cassette to get for the new wheelset that would be more suited for road riding. Currently my cassette is a 105 12-25T and performance has Ultegra cassettes on sale in 11-23T, 11-25T, 11-28T, 12-23T, and 12-25T. Can you have two wheelsets with different cassettes without having to adjust anything else?
