Welcome to the Golden State. You'll get great weather most of the year, definitely an upgrade from the UK, but in the winter the Santa Cruz mountains are one of the wettest parts of the NorCal (greater bay area) coastal region.

It'll still be better than where I hail from originally, which is Chicago. I started year-round commuting there in 2002. The winters are icy cold, snowy and long. I figure anything is better than that!

Hi. I've been in Leeds in Yorkshire now for nearly 40 years but started cycling in London and with the Tooting Bicycle club in the late 60s. I left a message in the introductions thread to see if I could contact old TBC members from my time there and so far have had 2 responses.

I gave up racing in the 80s and hardly rode at all for 20 years. I started again about a year ago and am hoping to get back into social riding and perhaps the odd sportive. Its great to see so many Brits on here.

Does originating from the UK (Devon, then Oxon. until 1983) count?
(Just notice I've been here, and done this… Here's my original post Originally from Braunton (Glorious Devon); moved to Abingdon-on-Thames (Oxon); moved to USA in 1983; been here ever since…

Hi, Dunno if I've put my name down here before (memory's slowing....), I'm from Lichfield, Staffordshire, UK. Only been out 4 times in the last 4 months, so bloody cold! Went out yesterday in nice, cool weather, took my time and ambled around 40 miles. Really enjoyed myself at last on my bike.

Hi, I've been on the forum since 2006 but haven't noticed this section before. You will usually find me on the Folding Bikes section - Swift Folders. I'm in Carlisle.
