I sold my beloved Raleigh carbon road bike a few days ago for a more upright urban/city ride and purchased a new Raleigh Port Townsend. I'm a photographer and would like to safely carry a camera and a couple of lenses, nothing big like a DSLR just my Olympus PEN-F and a couple of prime lenses.

Can anyone recommend a handlebar bag that firmly mounts and could safely carry my gear while riding?

Will watch this one, looking for a bar bag to keep a camera handy. In my case, possibly my D600 + modest zoom or my newly acquired B500.

somewhere in my garage i have a smaller version of this. caught a deal for a good bit less. haven't made a bike i wanted to use it on 'cause i'm always thinking i can't afford another if i come up with a better bike idea. wish it was an idea that eventually trickled down to less expensive versions

I did find this one that's made for cameras and comes in 2 sizes. Since I use a fairly small mirrorless camera system these may do the trick.

A Wald basket would fit well aesthetically on that bike, I think. Then you can use whatever camera bag you already have. A Wald 137 basket is more room than you need for the kit you mentioned, but should you want to take more camera, you'll be able to.

After a lot of reading and you tube video's I ended up purchasing the Topeck Tourguide handlebar bag.

Ortlieb handle bar bags have an accessory padded camera bag liner , available ..

QR and a shoulder strap and you get to carry it around..

to make an Ortlieb padded, Camera Bag* , into a handlebar bag..

* dry bag like Roll closure...

the Ortlieb company has changed the bag design on later models.

KF bar mount adapters have long worked on Ortlieb bags,
now 6th version of the Ortlieb bag mount also works on KF bags...

It doesn't have much in the way of padding, but https://www.axiomgear.com/products/b...-handlebar-p7/ it's very big, so there'd be ample space for some foam if you wanted some protection.

I used one of those on a touring bike. Be sure to use the cable under the stem locking system or the bag will start to sag. Otherwise, a great solution if you don't mind the weight, and the quick release is well designed.

I first thought the Topeck Tourguide bag would be way to big for my needs, but come to find out its perfect.

I mainly shoot with prime lenses and can fit my Olympus PEN-F with Panasonic 25mm lens mounted and carry my Olympus 17mm and 45mm along with me.

Gluing 2 lens butt caps together keeps them from beating the crap out of each other while being transported.

Interesting idea.

It works very well with my Micro Four Thirds small primes and even the 12-40mm Pro lens.. Not sure if it would hold as well with Canon/Nikon full frame larger lenses...

If you are carrying an Olympus Pen-F, I suggest a riding a half-frame bicycle.

Nice camera. I thought it was a 35mm until I looked it up. (No half frame 35mm either) At least it's not CMOS.

I switched from Canon full frame and L glass years ago and never looked back. I enjoy the styling and size of the Micro Four Thirds system over the much larger and heavier gear...

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I'm currently shopping for a handlebar bag myself and the Topeak looks promising. I'm curious how it's holding up after a few years of use.
