What a fantastic Idea!

I finally got a trailor built from an old pram but still not 100% with how i have attached it to the ebike. The whole thing is from reused materials. An old pram found in the street, clamps i found on another day and a plastic coated wire basket.

My hat is off to all who are using as many recycled parts as possible! And, rapattack, that is a nifty little number you've got there!

Here is a photo of my rig, A '07 Giant Sedona (I call it my SUV) and the trailer as it is equipped now. I too was worried about drivers not seeing the trailer and put 2 orange flags on the back now. Though it occurs to me the flags are not visible in the photo. Also notice the electric lime green shirt I wear...and I still almost got run over one time and almost rear ended last week. Someone mentioned the euphoric state of a driver...I think it is H-U-A ... Head Up ...well, you know.

Thanks yeah i am still trying to get this thing working 100%. Took it out today and the screws keep coming out of the join at the front bottom. I will have to see what else i can get. That means buying the first thing i have had to for this. I also need it to attach to the bike better. Got idea but can't seem to find what i need yet. Everytime i hit bumps/pot holes in the road the screws move and or the nut falls off then the screw moves. Luckily the screws don't fall out but i can see why that happens.

Yeah i put car reflectors on the back of my trailor, Haven't heard anything about it yet if it is doing the job or not. People have said to me when i am parked that they think it is real funky!

are they really screws or bolts and nuts? If they're bolts and nuts you could try a threadlocker. I'm also fond on nylon locking nuts.

OK so it is a sort of gooie substance that is applied to stop the bolt moving? Keeps the bot in place?

Here is my single wheel trailer, it's been completely made from recycled bits gained from an old bunk bed and has a 20" wheel, it tows really well and I have managed to include a suspension unit at the front of the trailer as opposed to on the forks at the rear.

Very cool. I should make a video of the next reused pram build. I wish i had welding equipment like one of my friends. I wish i could also get him to do something but he is also too busy. I only have my porch to work on too so i don't have a workshop or yard. Apartment city living :0(

It is a re-purposed MEC child trailer... kept part of the internal frame and modified it to use as a press bar as I carry a 100 litre water tight tote and this bar holds everything in place.

My usual tow vehicle uses the same size wheels... this was taken before I removed the old canopy.



With the tote lengthwise... it also fits across the width of the trailer and has a lid that can be stored underneath if an open container is needed.

Nice! I was thinking of putting a container on top of my trailor so that my groceries or whatever would be covered from the rain but most of what they sell around here is pretty fragile, cheap and nasty. I am sure i will find something else somewhere :0)

Thanks, the trailer seems to work very well for my first attempt, took it out for a ride today to pick up some chicken feed, only about 3-4 miles, 20kgs(45 pounds) of feed and it still felt good to tow although you could feel the extra weight on the hills.

My old record was 141Kg/310lbs, today I did 153.8Kg/339lbs

Let me tell you, that is a heavy load

I was stopped at one intersection near my house, the road slopes away from the traffic light every so slightly. When I put one foot down with both brakes on, the trailer started to drag me backwards, I had to put both feet down and hold the bike and trailer from going in reverse. The when I went to leave as the light turned green, well, that first 10' or so was hard work!

Otherwise, no problem at all!

Oh yeah, the bike weighs 18.2Kg/40lbs so the total I was moving down the road was 172Kg/379lbsI don't need much of a hill to get a GOOD workout

Wow you sure did out do yourself. Now i feel more confident to haul 2 computers and a very heavy printer tomorrow to get rid of them :0)

I imagine going downhill with a load like that could be really fun! Especially if you are of the opinion that brakes and stopping are over rated!

Not actually mine, but one I saw today in Yokohama.

Yeah, that was a big reason why I upgraded bikes, my dear old Cannondale with canti brakes up front and a U-brake in the rear were not up to the task. The disc brakes on the new bike stop freaking time and the wet don't bother them at all!
