My two new home built Xtracycles
Since I smashed the old one I built this nice beefy black one, but also wanted a much faster Xtra, so then I built this Road Xtra.

Nice stuff. Is it the rear triangle from a full sus MB? How did you fix it - just bolted? Let me know your method. I'm interested in something similar.

Theres no welding on my Xtras, all bolt, this black one, I love it so much, it carries big loads and I beat it good, hit jumps, curbs, and so on, a homebuilt is cheap, mine was free, all made from garbage bikes I found, One hint for Xtracycles, front suspention, it's a need. my old did not have suspention, long bike+curb/blunt obstical=stopping on the spot, possibly sacking yourself on it, I know, it's happened, this one here, the suspention takes it all and I just keep rolling, if you want close up pics I can get them.

I'll get pics soon, but if you look closely you could aee a quick release leaver, It's like that for a reason, The bike comes apart in two pieces if I have to transport it or store it.

This is nteresting, since I`we heard the oposite also. My longtail bike has got no front suspension, I`we been thinking of using rear suspension.
I built (almost finished) two more longtails this summer, one of them is from s "detatchable" buike. This is becouse I took the longtail on a long holyday trip, and it was sticking out approx 30-40 cms on each side of the car..
My main worry with the bike is weight. Want to make a fast one like you, and I want it light. Thinking of using a mixte as a main bike and an alu triangle I`we got.
Was happy to have the longtail this weekend. Use it becouse I like riding with my dog. He is resting in the bag when tired. This weekend I spnt one night in a cottage ith my son and two of his friends. th dog cut his paw on glass, so he rode al the way home in the bag

Well, I have used suspention on xtra and without, without, try hitting a small curb or something, then add beefy suspention, roll right over it, , but yeah, theres so many fun things to do with these things, my black one looks big, but it goes very well and fast.

Yes, pictures good. lol all my bikes are all parts from the garbage, where I live alot of nice bikes are thrown out, kinda sad because I can't get them all, some nights I pick up over 15 bikes, all very good lol this black Xtra has airline rims, good strong rims, perfect for the bike, I have a tow attachment on it right now, People wonder, what be a tow attachment, well if they could have tow trucks for cars, what about a tow bike? lol handy for garbage day, oh I love garbage day, the things people throw out.
