Bikes: They have two wheels!

n+Xtra

My bike count(n) is soon to include one brand new Xtracycle! I just placed my order today after several years of coveting others' Xtras. I'm wicked excited. I'll be extending this guy, and will post assembly pics if there is any interest.

Oh cool, you'll never want to go back. They are so nice for any occasion. Rode an injured friend around for about 15 miles because of a sprained ankle. Then did a weeks worth of shopping with lots of room left a few cases oh beer. Great addition to any commuter type bike. Congrats!!!

Let us know how the headshock fork works out. The extended wheelbase of an Xtracycle moves the riders weight forward supposedly and with cargo being hauled suspension forks reportedly bottom out.

No way! I've seen some Kona Utes around town, but never an xtracycle. I keep day dreaming about new and fun ways to use it, but I know I haven't even scratched the surface.

I will most certainly post an update. I actually ride the fork locked out most of the time since the poor bike rarely leaves the road. I'll probably pump up the schock
a bit more and se how it does loaded down.

There are plenty around, some of them are probably on a different side of town though if you havn't seen them. I know of 2 dummies, 4 or 5 xtra cycles and one lucky bastard even has a stokemonkey (which works amazing by the way)

When I first built mine i ended up hauling about 80 lbs of rock just because I could and it handled the load great. Yesterday I took the long way and went grocery shopping with it. Tomorrow I plan on taking it to do laundry.

I even decided to forgo riding my mountain bike even after fixing a bunch of stuff on it yesterday so I had time to ride the xtra cycle more.

You will love yours for sure. I know mine has already saved about 25 miles on my truck and I have only owned it a week.

Hope to see ya on the road sometime.

Built it up! I took it out for its maiden voyage today to pick up some stuff that might actually wind up on it. The ride is wonderful. Can't wait to do some bigger hauls.

Looks great VB, enjoy it. Yesterday I had to change the rear brake pads on my Xtracycle. I never thought they would ever wear out.

Did you have to upgrade the rear disc to 203mm?

Thanks for the complements guys!

I put a V-brake on the back. I figure I'll have plenty of stopping power with a v in back and a disc up front. We'll see.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to ride this beaut due to the looming due date of my university capstone project and my track and field season being currently in full swing.

The Xtracycle assembled rather easily. I think you could do it, but if you try and can't finish we are all here to help out.
