RicShaw Cycle

I have been intrigued by pedicycles or RicShaw Cycles for sometime now.

Does anybody know where I can get blueprints or construction plans?

Thanx

It depends on the build you want. Are you looking for a cab that attaches onto a two wheel bike? Are you trying to build a cab that is a tricycle?

BTW. Pedicycle is ok, but pedicab is the appropriate name. Bike Taxi also works. Rikshaw cycle is a bit of a contradiction because a rikshaw is where the operator hold handles and runs with the cab/riders. It is one of those things that some cabbers will get annoyed with and may even take offense to. I know when people get on my cab and say, "Its like China." I become annoyed and say something to the effect of, "Yeah, and like New York, Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, and hundreds of other cities in America too.

I become offended when they turn it into a more derogatory "joke." One guy said, "ching chong chow," to his friends as he was riding away. Others will "jokingly" tell us to whiny like a horse or some other derogatory thing.

I love cabbing but those are a few of the things that grate.

I've have to remember to say all of those things if I ever ride in a rickshaw bike.

You should get one of those coolie hats to wear while working.

Um, actually, a pedicab that can be towed by a two wheeled bike just might be what I'm looking for. Googled and came back with pedicab.com, but it looks like all of their offerings are essentially custom made trikes...

pedicab.com has some high quality items. Those are the cabs we use here. Granted they do have wear and tear but you will get that with anything. As for the pedicab attachment, I personally wouldnt ride on a pedicab that was one but most people dont care.

Before you try and make one see what kind of regulations your city has, if any. If you plan to use it in a commercial sense, they may require certain requisites to me met. They may also prohibit sole proprietorship of a single cab. Some cities require a certain amount of bikes to be owned and licensed in order to start a company. Furthermore, the driver(s) may have to obtain a license of operation from the city. All things to look into. If these things are required by the city you will most likely have to get insurance as well. The policies range from 500k, 1 mil, and 2 mil. Yearly cost for these policies are 6k and up.

That doesnt even bring into consideration city fees. Inspection, quarterly, etc. Its a great business if you want to get into it but do your research first.

If you want a pedicab for recreational use for you and your family just have at it.

I want to make a shirt that has a laundry list of those things on the back.

"Yes, you're heavy but it doesnt matter.
No that steak you just ate doesnt make a difference.
Yes this is good exercise but bad living can cure that.
Yes I get tired.
yes I get hot."

Etc. You know the drill.

In response to the free rides, when a hot girl would ask him, a buddy of mine would say, "Well, pretty girls ride for free. For you its $2 a block."

As for the, "you sure you can pull us," In a very boisterous manly voice (think Gaston from Beauty and the Beast,) I would reply, "It has been said that all my muscle is below the waist!)
