Question Cargo e-bike?

Hello

To carry several boxes, possibly going up-hill a bit, I was wondering if some company offers cargo bikes with an electric motor for assistance?

This model from https://www.cargobikesystem.com/ can carry a lot, but I'm curious about the efforts required to ride it, especially if it's not flat all the way:

Thank you.

Depends on what you want to do/how much you want to spend. Metrofiets.com has e-assist cargo bike. If you want to haul on the back, the Xtracycle Edgerunner or a Yuba Mundo both have electric options. Bakfiets.nl has electric assist in both the bike and trike versions.

Bikes: Too many to list, some I built myself including the frame. I "do" ~ Human-Only-Pedal-Powered-Cycles, Human-Electric-Hybrid-Cycles, Human-IC-Hybrid-Cycles, and one Human-IC-Electric-3way-Hybrid-Cycle

You can also buy the cargo bike you want and then add electric assist to it by installing a kit. For cargo bikes mid-drive set-ups that drive through the bikes gears to allow you to gear down the motor and your pedaling together are usually preferred.

Soappedaler -- I just purchased an Edgerunner through ebikes.ca. I'm waiting for delivery. I hope that I like it as much as you enjoy your Big Dummy...

by putting a hub motor in both front wheels..
a jump on it ready to ride In your Country IDK , any cargo bike specialist shops in Paris?

There's a couple of stores that see cargo bikes, but I don't know if they offer electric models.

June 30th 2013 (Sun) is Paris Cargo Bikes Meeting. I'll go take a look if I can.

A Business is Likely to add the power wheels if the additional cost is agreed upon.

Hi there, I thought this thread was the good occasion to join you. As one of the organizers of the Paris Cargo Bikes Meeting, I can only encourage you to join And as for the previous question about parisian cargo bikes dealers, yes there are some, and guess what, they'll almost all be there with their best models during the meeting So come and give them a test ride ! or check this page : https://pariscargobikes.org/meeting-2...-meeting-2013/ (I don't know your forum rules yet, but I guess I should precise that we are a non for profit association, only getting sponsors to get some money to organize this free meeting).

However Winfred, I do agree with turbo1889's answer, choose your model first, depending on the load you'll need to carry, and then add an electric kit. Most of the models can be modified after market.
anyhow, there will be assisted cargo bikes to try, my wife will be there with an assisted Bakfiets, we have a couple of assisted urban arrows that have already registered, and there will be at least an assisted trike that the official french dealer of christiania told us they would bring for test rides.

Convinced ?

Guys, sorry for the following message in French, but I realize I must have 50 messages to be allowed to answer to Winfred private message... Si here is my answer Winfred :
Franck."
short in english : end of the meeting is 7pm. Can't assure you that all the participants and sponsors will still be around after 7pm to allow test rides (depends mainly on the weather...), register online to the meeting, you'll get the latest news and the programme a couple of days before.

Sorry about that. I didn't know BF set a limit before being allowed to reply.

Unfortunately, I'll be out in the 'burbs on Sunday, and can't possibly be back in Paris in time :-/

I don't intend to buy a cargo bike right now, but was curious to check out the different brands besides the world famous Bakfiets that I saw often while riding around in Holland.

With gas getting more and more expensive, and traffic a bigger and bigger PITA, there might be a business either renting out (e-) cargo bikes, or possibly offering delivery to businesses/end customers.

I was recently in Rennes and noticed the mail carriers used electric assist cargo bikes.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know the bulky yellow bikes they use are slowly being replaced with e-bikes instead:

(if you can read French)
"La poste s'équipe en vélos électriques"
